Training
The swimming school – which is characterized by its quality – has the following concept:
1st Water Familiarization Course
2nd Seahorse Course
3rd Course Bronze Course
The courses all build on one another. Newcomers who meet the requirements to start the Seahorse or Bronze course are always welcome.
Contents Water habituation
Children should have lost their fear of water and can already perform several breaststrokes.
Contents Seahorse
25m clean breaststroke (breathing, no scissors)
Contents Bronze Course
Clean breaststroke and safe control of the back position with aids
Swimming training then takes place on this basis.
This is where the actual swimming training takes place, with the awarding of the silver and gold badges. When the children move from the swimming school to the swimming training area, they should have the bronze youth swimming badge, should be able to swim at least 200m cleanly breaststroke, perform a head dive from the edge of the pool and master the back position at least with aids.
In swimming lessons, it is very important to us to keep the children enjoying swimming and to continue to encourage it without losing sight of the training content and training goals. This requires creativity, enthusiasm and willingness on the part of the trainer or instructor. Although the training goals are the main focus, the instructors must and should ensure that all aspects of swimming are treated in a playful manner. This means that even if the training goal does not require the front crawl to be achieved, it is still a good idea to incorporate exercises and games in which preliminary forms of front crawl swimming are treated. On the one hand, this is more varied and, on the other hand, it promotes coordination and thus later learning success. All types of swimming must be treated in a playful manner at all times.
